Desolation of the Soul

What is desolation?  The definition of the word means barren - To be barren of what actually?  Well, being barren of something can be...anything.  Love, a home, family, financial support, health, or even in our relationship with God.  In today's time, it's easy for us to become distracted in less than a minute because of so many thing happening around us all at one time.  Distraction can range from anything that we may put first instead of taking time during our day to spend time with the Lord and studying his word.  Everyone is guilty of doing this, but that is not an excuse. Why?  Even though we may be guilty of not spending time with the Lord like we should be doing, the truth is [That] WE'RE being too lazy to do so in the first place.  If we spend too much time away from the Lord, our Spirit begins to feel barren, therefore, when Satan attacks us, we are, Spiritually, too weak to advance on his tactics.
In conclusion, my Sunday school lesson today will be about yearning for God's help and love during the times that -WE- are in a desolate place in our lives.

Yearning -  Means to feel  an intense desire or longing for something
Bible Verses - Matthew 5: 6;  Psalm 34: 10
( Matthew 5: 6)
"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."

(Psalm 34: 10)
"The young lions do lack and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing."

Word- Hunger

Desolation - Means a state of complete emptiness or destruction

Bible Verses: Isaiah 54: 1;  Proverbs 1: 27

(Isaiah 54: 1)
"Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord."

(Proverbs 1: 27-28)
"When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind: when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me."

Word - Barren
